      4 years, high performer, stagnant growth opps

      Pros

      Great money if you work hard and smart. Best 6 figure job for people looking to stay complacent in their role for a long while. Typical pharmaceutical company environment. Most management in the Northeast is solid and do not micromanage.

      Cons

      Company was going through an extensive "women-in-leadership" initiative in 2013. If you were not a woman, you had greatly diminished opportunity to grow in the short term. In addition, there were numerous (and typical) changes under new Novartis ownership which stymied many peoples career growth. Including my own (why I left). There was positive change underway, but too slow for my career goals.

      Pros

      Competitive salary, nice campus with fun amenity perks such as Starbucks, Fitness Center and cafeteria. Outside of management, most everyone promotes an environment that takes pride in being honest, loyal, a team player, ethical and employee who makes quality decisions.

      Cons

      The culture is demoralizing. The departmental/direct leadership can be unkind, disrespectful and mendacious. It seems the executive leadership team does not realize or possibly care how low morale has gotten. Management does not show equal opportunity for career development. There are always rumors of layoffs looming.

      Pros

      Other than steady work- I can't think of any. This company is out for profit only and they do not care about employees AT ALL! They use people and when they are done with you they are done. As a temp- they will keep you 18 months and then you are out!

      Cons

      They use terror tactics with their employees. Everyone lives in constant fear of losing their job. If you are 1 minute late- no matter the circumstance- you are fired and walked off the premises. If you have an opinion or suggestion- you better keep it to yourself because you will be written up and soon after fired.
