      Don’t take a job here if you have options.

      Good benefits, but you cannot eat those

      Where to begin? If you care about your health and your kids health regarding Covid-19 don’t work here if you have options. They forced us back into office and had a weeks long “welcome back” carnival for the 600,000+ Covid-19 corpses I guess? Masks are optional. Vaccines are optional. Indoors is a super spreader event waiting to happen. Terrible pay. Your average CCA could only afford to live in Fort Worth, TX if they have a spouse. If you’re a single mom forget about it. You will be priced out of Fort Worth. Alcon would rather lose good employees than fix their terrible middle manager problems. They are already having trouble attracting diverse top talent because of Texas’ problems relating to our politics and power grid issues. I believe it will only get worse, because management refuses to reign in people who have been at Alcon for 20+ years who are soaked in the problems of the past…which can be googled if you’re unaware of them.

      Exploitative, everyone is expendable

      Global company with good healthcare benefits. Sophisticated organizational structure

      Because of the restructuring, people have had to wear several hats, with no additional pay. Sometimes, the same title with the same role can have very large discrepancies in the salary. That is, they will pay more for an external hire than an internal one. My predecessor was an external hire, paid 122% more than me (just recently found out), even though I'm doing his role plus 2 others I've been asked to take on because they made several people redundant. The whole process was very disingenuous and lacked transparency. Very bureaucratic. Lots of red tape, very political. A permanent contract does not necessarily mean job stability. Some who have been working with Alcon for 10-20 years were easily made redundant. Employee turnover rate is very high. I've had to endorse to 3 different people for the same role in this year alone.

      Awful backstabbing culture in Irvine

      Some of the employees. Onsite cafeteria and gym.

      Cons

      Most of the employees. Horrible "Game of Thrones" backstabbing culture in Irvine. You won't know who to trust and you'll get thrown under the bus at the first opportunity. Safety group thinks too highly of itself.
