Pros

Nice people in entry and mid level positions who obviously care about producing quality goods and services. Engineers are highly sought and valued.

Cons

Poor management decsions regarding annual raise reviews: Management paid out full bonuses when goals were missed by 30%, allowing executives to get full bonus. Within weeks, company laid off more than 50% of defense focused employees. Poor Leadership in most areas of Test and Services division. Significant cronyism within division executive circles, which were ignored by corporate executive team in VA. Extremely poor transition when merging 2 small companies into one. Policies were not equally enforced between major sites.

Pros

Flexible benifits package is good. ( An extra 6% of your salary to spend how you like on flexible benifits on top of some core benifits) A reliable employer during economic turmoil.

Cons

Office atmosphere is not very lively or chatty. Office desks and chairs are uncomfortable.

Pros

Building helicopters is an interesting industry. The company is small enough to allow access to all parts of the operation for those who are interested.

Cons

The biggest downside is the French management and their caste system mentality. If you are not a French ex pat, you can forget a senior level career with this company. Pay and benefits for equivalent title and responsibility jobs are dramatically greater for French employees than for American employees. An inordinate amount of time is spent in meetings; in 25+ years in corporate America, I have never seen so much time wasted in meetings that accomplish nothing. I also experienced more arrogance from senior management and French ex pats than I have ever encountered. The rules simply did not apply to them. Information and knowledge are not shared.
