      Fun, Great Career Launcher, But Sometimes A Bit Boring

      Pros

      The best thing about working for Accenture is the great amount of knowledgeable people you work with and the variety of opportunities to be found within one company. It is also a great resume builder as it is a very well known and respected company.

      Cons

      Sometimes the company is more concerned with head count for a project instead of what is delivered, sometimes causing the hiring of a lot of incompetent people trying to work with technology that they do not have a proficiency for. This leads to a major degradation in the delivered product and questions of ethics. Also, promotions will be given based off not only hard work, but schmoozing as well.

      Pros

      Accenture is a large company where you can make many connections and move up quickly. Regardless of where you come in, there is a lot of opportunity to explore a breadth of options to focus your career on. There is a lot of flexibility and many of my co-workers have switched industries, workgroups, or locations. The work/life balance is better than some other consulting companies.

      Cons

      A lot of what goes into promotions and annual reviews is who you know and who is willing to stand up for you. The pay and bonuses are not as good as some other consulting companies and there are also long hours, travel, and little work/life balance.

      Pros

      If you like travel this is the place for you. Great place to network for your alumni life. You will always run into Accenture Alumni especially if you stay within the technology field. It's a great foot in the door at most companies.

      Cons

      Too much travel and long hours. Can be a grinder most days. You will need to take control of your own career path because no one else will do it for you. You can get pigeon holed into a technology or application that you may not enjoy working on. Take every opportunity to network with managers on other projects and make yourself available for projects that you want to work on.
