Pros

It's a great place to start your career as it has many opportunities to move around various departments when you find an area you are interested in. Promotion within teams are not easily acquired, however you can get promoted by moving accross different teams. There is good opportunity to make a long term career in Accenture. There is also opportunity to gain excellent experience.

Cons

The working hours can sometimes be long, however this depends on the type of work you are doing as well as the culture of your team (some work hard others don't need to). There is little room for rewarding staff for good work/achievements. Also, some teams work are very repetetive and boring. Staff turnover seems a bit high, so you are nearly training in new people at least once every year. In general I enjoyed working with Accenture, the people were fun and very smart, but I ended up leaving as the salary was quite low compared to what the market was offering. If the salary had remained competitive, I would probably still be working there, as I enjoyed the challenging work environment.

Pros

Some say it was only the AT&T/BellSouth account that was like a sweatshop and there were better opportunities elsewhere. However, having seen a dozen different Execs take over the account that didn't manage any differently, I can only think all of upper management is incompetent.

Cons

Salaries and bonuses whose combined total didn't keep up with inflation, even after receiving the highest employee rating. No promotions. The level B's and above were getting bonuses from Global and raking in the cash but level C's and below didn't. No way did level C's and below feel a part of the company.

Pros

Accenture offers: * A fantastic client-base. I've had a chance to work with some amazing clients. * Plenty of opportunities to travel. I have seen some beautiful cities thanks to Accenture being a globally-focused company. * Working with great people. Many of the friends I've made were once Accenture employees. * A multitude of industries to work in. There are opportunities, depending on your skillset, to work in almost any industry (government-based, utilities, chemicals, products, etc).

Cons

Accenture's cons: * No work-life balance. Sometimes there are 60 hour weeks. This doesn't count time spent in airports. * No support for flexible work arrangements. You're at the mercy of the client, and sometimes the manager (if he/she doesn't like you). * Fairly widespread disregard for following some company policies. Many times managers will write their own rules. * Brown-nosing is a must if you want to get ahead. Often the amount of participation and leadership in corporate-driven optional (read mandatory) initiatives are more valuable to your review than the work you're doing on a project.
