Pros

I started working in Acadsoc 7 months ago with a starting rate of 2.4 $ per hour (I'm not an English major and I don't have any certificates) and I work 4~6 hours a day. However, I can get at least 900 per day now. How did it happen? 1. They give salary with or without class. (As long as you were there during your class time with no internet/electricity problem) 2. You'll get a bonus once you have a class with at least 80% of your students. 3. They give a higher bonus for trial classes (and they increase it within a few days once you have a good performance) 4. My supervisor motivates me weekly and gives me feedback. 5. When they say that they will release the salary, they will

Cons

1. When you can't clock in at least 9 minutes before your class, salary deduction (it must be 10 minutes but I experienced being a minute late for clock in a couple of times but were not charged or just 10% of the 1.2$ deduction ) 2. When you missed your class and you can't provide valid proof, salary deduction. 3. They changed the salary period (It should be weekly.. huhu.. And must be consistent even when there's a Holiday in their country) 4. They have changed the point system so salary increase isn't that easy. 5. Supervisor doesn't call when they want to "talk"

Pros

I had a part-time job in Acadsoc and the pay was okay. Not great but okay considering you don't have to pay taxes and other fees and I live in an urban city where earning 10k would suffice. You get to work at home and I would say it's better than commuting especially if you are in an urban area with lots of heavy traffic. The students are mostly friendly and you can form a friendly relationship with them.

Cons

I have referred other people to this company because of their referral system but HR hasn't done any quick and proper action about it. My friend asked about her application, she just got ignored. Schedules are suddenly removed without any notice. Reminder to the company: If you agreed to plot this schedule in the previous week then don't removed whatever is plotted. JUST GIVE US A NOTICE. Also, I received a complaint and was reprimanded but asked what is it about, they just ignore you. Seriously?

Pros

Nice UI Big bonus and incentives Most kids and adults are nice and friendly

Cons

-Low pay and penalties are high -Staff are very unresponsive -Points system. Unless you get 5 stars from your students, the points are high but penalties minus your points so much more so that it prevents you from ever being promoted out of probation -Too many trainings and tests that it will take you months to finish and therefore remain in probationary period unless you get this done ASAP which is practically impossible for part timers. -Teaching apps take use too much internet bandwidth and are a bit too complicated to use. Their app malfunctions nowadays as well, thus resulting in negative reviews -Terminates teacher without notice -You get terminated if you do not open slots for more than 1 week -Does not release Certificate of Employment after dismissal which is a hassle if you will apply to another company that requires it. -Some adults and parents can be too critical and rude.
