Pros

This company excels in employee training and knowledge as well as customer service and attention to the point of sale. Employees and managers are pushed to be competent in multiple departments and workloads of the store.

Cons

Store management always seem pressures after the company's last transfer of investors. Store renovations seem pointless, and it takes away focus on daily workload as there is no compensation for extra employees to the extra workload. Management is negligent to quickly hire replacement sales team members and cashiers. Personnel trained in both department and cashiering have to run between departments while adhering to customer service and daily workload.

Academy gives store managers the freedom to create their own atmosphere. They are also very flexible with schedules and will work with students. I was hired in high school and stayed until I became a junior in college.

Cons

Of course, working in retail means some holidays and most weekends. It can be a stressful environment sometimes. The company was originally owned by a family and was sold to a private investor a few years ago. It's lost some of the culture that many customers and employees grew to love.
