Like Academy Sports as a sports store, thought working there would be fun.

Cons

You do nothing to stop, apprehend or prosecute shoplifters. As an asset protection associate I am tagging merch. and doing nothing to reduce theft.

Pros

Company objectives are supported from the top down. Priorities are generally well defined. Lots of work, translating to job security if you perform. Recognition is abundant when you work with the right team

Cons

High turnover in IT Director level power struggles Directors actions don't always follow their words Pay is average for retail but this is an energy corridor and tough to compete with. Company is still operating in a small shop mentality with large growing pains.

management can be overbearing, corporate can come down and change things that work, dumb planogram designs and stuff sent from corporate, bad customers, ect
