Pros

- Growing company - Quick advancement (title change without pay increase) without being fully equipped or qualified for the position - Location is a pro if you live in or around the Katy area

Cons

- Pay is horrible unless management likes you; negotiate a higher salary at the beginning because your raise will not be more than 3% even if the company makes record sales - There's no true career growth structure to determine your performance and bonus - Minimal training provided if any - The company has a vision, but is unsure of how to actually get there - The retention rate is horrible because Academy does not know how to treat their employees - Heads turn the other way if an individual is doing something wrong and management likes you - There's no flexible work option schedule - Academy expects you to work overtime, but does not give you any incentives for doing so or is often forgotten during bonus/raise time - Ill prepared management

Good Company with Lots of work to be Done

Pros

There is tremendous growth and opportunity and almost everyone you work with knows that and is trying to build something special. The company is probably going to go public and will be a national brand.

Cons

With all the growth and change, there is a LOT of work to be done. If you want a 35 hour a week job where you surf the internet between meetings this is not the place for you. There are a lot of new people and that brings its own set of challenges. There have been losses and in particular one team, the PMO, seems to have suffered the most. (You can tell that from some of the other reviews here). I don't know if that's a function of leadership or the work. At this point growth and organizational change is a near constant. If that's something you struggle with (temporary offices while construction is under way, parking challenges, etc) you might wait a few months to submit your application.

Pros

20% Discount It's a job you get paid uniforms

Cons

The company is extremely disorganized and does not care about the hourly employees. This is NOT a good job for college students, people with families, the faint of heart, or people who enjoy more structure less chaos. Employment here should only be a last resort or temporary!! RUN!
