I did not feel training was adequate. The first day I came to work my manager said that he was expecting me the previous week and I told him I needed 2 weeks to give notice. He never told me that when I was training I would be shadowing someone else and their schedule. When I asked about my schedule he gave me a completely different schedule then the one he had given me over the phone.

We did accommodate you by giving you 3 weeks between your offer and start date. We find actual on-the-job training shadowing a more senior employees works best. We also try to best accommodate schedules of both trainee and trainer with give and take of all involved. Unfortunately there were no other positions available that did not require PC skills for you to transfer into. We wish you the best with your future job endeavors.

Micromanaged - there are more cameras watching employees than there are the merchandise

Glad you like your fellow workers as it is important to have a friendly work environment. We are a retail store and have more cameras over merchandise on our sales floor and warehouse to prevent theft.

Pros

I've been working at Abt for over 8 years and they have been an amazing family to work for. Yes they do treat us like family with their generosity and oportunities. The salary and benefits are more than fair as well as the flexible work schedule, especially when it comes to time with our families. The resources and tools they give us on a daily basis help us do our jobs well and helps us satisfy customers.

Cons

The only con is that it's retail and sometimes some customers can be a bit difficult, but with the tools they give us, it's not hard to make those customers life long ones.
