Supportive environment and supervisors but high workload and long hours
Pros
- Lots to learn and work on - Supportive environment and immediate supervisors - Encouraged and held to high skill standards - Recognized decently with awards for contributions - Less or minimal office politics at individual contributor level as IDC is relatively new
Cons
- 1-10pm working shift, takes a toll on health, often need to extend working hours - Very high workload (maybe team dependent), expected to work 1.5-2x more these days due to AI - Mundane work once you get the hang of your team - Not enough time or scope for innovation. Asked to go "above and beyond" for performance reviews but no time. - Company moves too slowly as it's too large and process-oriented - Compensation can be improved to match FAANG considering company's ample revenue
