Pros

Great team culture. People really care about co-workers and many people have come back over the years. Company is growing and changing so opportunities are being created. Great leadership, they seem to care about employees.

Cons

Fair pay but not great. They make it up in benefits

Such A Disappointment

Pros

The people are what make AMTA a tolerable place to work. They are friendly and collaborative, to the extent that they can be. The building is nice and in a lovely location. There are decent benefits including affordable health insurance and a generous 401k.

Cons

Terrible, terrible leadership. The leadership propagates a culture of trepidation and hard-working staff are trapped in an environment that perpetuates motivation and productivity through fear and threats. The micromanagement that is claimed to not exist is the core of managements' expected duties. A learning curve for new employees is absent and unrealistic expectations for perfection within minimal time frames remain the norm.

Foot in the door but no growth

Pros

AMTA is a good starting place to get your foot in the door with associations. Good work/life balance. Not everyone is eligible for telecommuting, but some positions qualify.

Cons

Not much growth opportunity. Once you've maxed out your position and reached your salary cap, there's no further earning potential or professional growth options. Favorites are played and nepotism occurs often. Top-down communication needs to be improved. Departments work in silos. The whole organization is reactionary and lacks proper planning and implementation which hinders their success.
