Pros

Large blue-chip clients to work with and support Team members are friendly and generally decent people Ability to work on some projects but with very limited scope Exposure to how larger organisations deal with recruitment Good place to add a good company or two to your CV

Cons

Scope of work is extremely repetitive, clients aren't receptive to making any real kind of process improvements. Anything new requires sign-off from both internal and external stakeholders, making processes extremely slow. Sourcing team leads are entirely dependant on Lead Sourcers to support the development of junior staff members, they often have little understanding of sourcing processes themselves. Very limited career progression, promotion is on tenure rather than ability Extremely KPI driven with daily sheets to fill in for everything; daily screens, interviews, offers, separate projects, PDPs, end of year reviews. Really poor morale in teams due to workloads. Old equipment, extremely slow laptops, terrible headsets. Promotion goalposts continually moved throughout my 2+ years . No bonus or incentives worth talking about. Christmas parties are self funded (pretty miserable). Stay clear if you're an agency recruiter, you'll not be impressed with the call centre style personnel they hire around you at the same level. Unsavoury characters in leadership positions

Pros

- Strong reputation abroad, particularly in the UK - Diverse portfolio of clients globally

Cons

- Inexperienced Leadership - over 2/3rds of the management team have either not worked for the client account in Asia or are in their first RPO role. This inexperience and lack of familiarity shows through as leadership fails to provide clear direction and vision for the account - Weak Culture - management shows lack of trust in their subordinates and colleagues. Certain managers are unwilling to listen to suggestions or viewpoints from colleagues with more specific expertise or more familiarity with the client. This is a major concern when these managers are making critical decisions without informed input; decisions which directly impact the client's vastly-scaled recruitment operations - Ineffective communication - there have been several occasions where communication lines have been fragmented or severed. We are a large RPO in APAC with over 150+ staff and a unique AMS business model (180 recruitment). Solid communication is the bedrock which allows the model to be successful at this scale. When communication is fragmented or nonexistent, it creates an environment permeated with mistrust, conflict, and low morale across the account
