Pros

Pay check arrived on time

Cons

I worked for ADT and can honestly say it was one of the most disappointing professional experiences I’ve ever had. The management is completely disconnected from the reality in the field. They practice extreme micromanagement with zero respect for employees. The atmosphere is one of dictatorship — employees are treated like machines, not human beings. Managers with sales backgrounds are promoted to lead installation teams without any real technical knowledge, resulting in unrealistic time allocations for installations and poor planning. Employees are often forced to complete complex installations alone, even when it clearly requires a two-person team. Training focuses only on protecting the company legally, not on helping employees do their job better. Safety tests exist mainly so the company can deny responsibility in case of injury. There is no proper training on the company’s software or systems — workers are expected to figure everything out on their own. Company vehicles are poorly maintained, and technicians are required to buy their own tools. Employees are also pressured to work weekends, even when the workload doesn’t justify it. Management expects employees to make the company their only priority, ignoring the fact that people have families and lives outside of work. Supervisors arbitrarily cut workers’ hours to impress upper management. The inventory system is full of errors, yet employees are blamed for mismatched stock that isn’t their fault. In short, ADT is not a healthy or fair workplace. If you value respect, professionalism, and basic human decency, look elsewhere.

Pros

There are some pros such as relaxed dress attire, cool people etc

Cons

The company itself is just very focused on numbers and nothing else. It’s simply a corporate giant swallowing up everything in its path. They don’t care about employees or customers. They will micromanage you to death. And everything is your fault, if someone couldn’t afford the system, it’s somehow your fault. You should have presented it better, maybe they do have money but you didn’t sell them. This company will discount a whole system down to 100 bucks to get a sale from someone who has no money, and they’ll still tell you that. If a call drops, it’s your fault. Your numbers are everything, if someone calls ADT thinking they’re calling AT&T, it will still count against your sales numbers. They’ll say well you could have still sold it. It’s very pushy, and the training is horrendous. In fact just about everything learned in training is not even the job, you basically relearn everything after training. They have commission structures that essentially will move the goal post as often as possible, every call that’s not a sale counts against you no matter what. If a call drops, it counts against you. If the customer called the wrong number, it still counts against you. You’re constantly fighting to hit the numbers for bonuses and it feels almost impossible when you are hit by things out of your control. ADT is a joke.
