All the questions were leadership principles based and all the leadership principles were tested. Some interviewers can cut through your stories as you speak, but some would wait for you to complete before asking follow up questions. Both formats are very normal and nothing to be concerned about.

I don't think the questions would have been difficult, there was just a language barrier over a speaker phone. From what I could make out of the last question, it was how would you deal with a project that was delayed for 4 months you had a month to complete it, you also have 3 other projects that were due at the same time, you were under staffed and could only get 1 additional developer. As I explained how I would approach it, he would keep adding complexity (i.e one of them is a high value customer).

Phone interviews: - Basic questions about the past experience, the projects I managed - Some questions related to Amazon 14 principles, my questions were related to Earn Trust, Ownership and Customer Obsession. Onsite interview: - 5 interview sessions (including lunch) - make sure you prepared a few questions in each principles, with examples in STAR format. They will be picked up in the interview. - Solution Design: some interviewer will give you a problem and ask you to design a solution. Some others will ask you to describe past projects and its design.
