Mainly asked questions regarding SEM/SEO expertise, as well as eBay fee structure/business model. Interested in people with specific SEM backgrounds, as well as general analytical backgrounds.

Question 1
There was a portion of the interview which involved sitting down at a computer and working on a spreadsheet, extracting insights, and putting together a recommendation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Sep 2011
Interview
I was hired as a contract-to-hire so my interview process was unconventional. I did apply for the job directly (before the contract-to-hire) and was declined the position. When applying directly, the interview process was a series of phone interviews and a single 4-hour on-site interview. I thought that I had done very well in the on-site but later found that the person who asked me the least questions (and I thought I had provided the best answers to) decided against me due to the fact that I knew someone else in the company that they happened to disagree with (I had no clue that they didn't like each other at the time).

Question 1
The most difficult question was a technical one that I fumbled the answer for. I was asked to provide the pseudo-code for a binary search algorithm. It had been some time since I actually used the algorithm; but I did end up providing a version of it that I derived on my own after about 10 minutes of talking through the problem.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
I applied online to a blanket MBA position with eBay and was contacted about a week later. I had an HR screen (just to make sure I wasn't crazy), then I had a phone interview with my hiring manager a few days later. The following day, I interviewed with a senior manager in the company. In both interviews, they asked me questions specifically related to the job I would do over the summer to see if I had ideas to solve the business question they faced (I also found out about the position through the interviews, so it wasn't easy to prepare). I got the offer the following day from HR and asked for some time to think. She was very pushy and rude, but overall it was a pretty painless process.
