Interview
I've submitted my application a month later I've received an invite for a screening call, basic interview to check alignment... And then I never heard back from the recruiter, even after chasing. I've been completely ghosted! Wise was top of my list of companies to work for and sad to say that after this experience, they are now well at the bottom, in the 'avoid' section.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Previous experience and motivation. Salary and if I was comfortable working in office.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wise (Singapur) in Sep 2025
Interview
It was a 1hr 30mins interview, fully prepare yourself to be asked on payment operations, as well as general questions. There would only be 1 break in between the questioning. Do not expect to be hired and also to have an answer to why you were not chosen.

Interview
I had a very negative experience during the final stage of the interview process for a Software Engineer role. The initial interviews with the recruiter and the pair programming session were conducted professionally and went well.
However, the interview with the Hiring Manager was appalling.
Lack of Punctuality & Preparation: The interviewer joined the call a few minutes late. She began by stating that the goal of the interview was an "evaluation of whether I could fit her team or some other team," which immediately gave the impression that she was unfamiliar with my profile or the stated role requirements.
Lack of Engagement: After asking me to walk through my 15 years of experience (which I did, focusing on my last three companies), the interviewer appeared completely uninterested. The entire conversation lasted only 25 minutes.
Abrupt Conclusion: She quickly closed the interview, and I received an automated rejection email just ten minutes later.
In 15 years of my career, I have never experienced such a humiliating and highly disrespectful lack of respect for my time as a professional. If a candidate’s profile is not suitable, the process should be stopped earlier, before wasting their time and the company's resources on unnecessary interview slots. This process reflects poorly on the company's respect for candidates. I will even evaluate closing my account as a customer ad I don't want to have anything to do with companies like this.
