Wayfair Senior Software Engineer interview questions

- HR call - Home Task assignment - 2 Tech rounds based on the home task - 2 Behavioral interviews The overall process is really slow and at some point, you feel like you need to beg them to continue. Some interviews don't have experience actually conducting an interview, by far it was one of the most stressful interviews I have ever had because interviewers were pushing me, even when I didn't know the answer. They expect you to spend multiple days on the home task assignment. Both tech rounds were focused on the home assignment, however, 70% of the time was allocated for a particular small problem that you are could be the least familiar with and therefore the whole process feels like an exam in the university. They try to find our weaknesses and highlight it during the interview.

Headhunter sent in my application and shortly received a call from Leah, one of Wayfairs internal recruiters. We spoke on the phone about the role. This particular role was advertised as 100% remote however when speaking with her she mentioned that it would require multiple trips that would last one to two weeks throughout the year. I told her that it wouldn't work for me but she encouraged me to continue with the interview process saying that she would find me a role that would fit after I did their skills assessment. I walked away feeling like she didn't really care. She was very short, and pushy. I was scheduled for a Karat interview which I passed. This moved me to the next round which is onsite. After receiving information about the onsite interview date. I contacted her via email to let her know that I would like to reschedule the date. I told her I'd feel more comfortable if we had a specific role/position to ensure we don't waste any of the interviewers time. At this point, I had about a thirty minute conversation with her in total in addition to a Karat interview. Her response says it all. "Awesome, it doesnt sound like this is the right role for you. Best of luck with your job search!" Don't interview with this company. They are exactly as bad as their reviews. They don't value your time or what you are interested in, your just a number and I'm sure that's how they will treat you on the job too.
