I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair (Austin, TX) in Nov 2021
Interview
This position was not remote, and I realized that only too late, so wasn't keen on it. First, there was a recruiter screening for 30 minutes.
Then a Karat interview was scheduled for 1 hour. There was a redo opportunity so I took it. Then they didn't continue. They are looking for leetcode experts, not experienced engineers.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Wayfair in Dec 2021
Interview
First interviewer didn’t show up for a FIVE HOUR panel interview that Wayfair scheduled. Second interviewer was acting in an insulting manner so I walked out.
Wasting time talking to recruiters took up 1 hour of those five hours. They had 30 minutes scheduled for a recruiter asking behavioral type questions, which is worthless because a recruiter won’t know how to follow up on a behavioral question if you didn’t answer it to the company’s liking. 15 minutes were dedicated to talking to recruiters at the beginning and end of the interview process.
The process:
Recruiter screen - 30 minutes - 1 hour long
Karat interview (3rd party company that issues live, recorded technical interviews) - 1 hour long
5 hour panel interview
Thanks to Wayfair and Chewy I am never doing an interview that is longer than an hour and a half ever again.
