Wayfair Project Manager interview questions

Recruiter found me through a job board. Had an initial brief phone call with recruiter to get an idea of my experience and then determine what level I would fall under. Had a phone interview with one director. Basic stuff (experience, why Wayfair, etc...). Scheduled for an onsite with 4 additional leaders in product management. Like others have stated, 2 "who are you" type interviews and 2 use cases. Both uses started off with you providing analysis on what areas would you look to find improvements to existing processes. Second part of each use case was more focused on analysis of data and arriving at conclusions based on it. If you find it hard to do math under pressure, prep yourself. Each meeting lasted about 45 minutes. Received feedback about 2-3 days later. Feedback was positive though was told no group had a position at the level I would come in at. If that's the case why did I interview? Whole process from first outreach to final was a little over a month. Most of that was because of my scheduling challenges not theirs.

Company seems to have hired first time recruiters who call candidates and seem to rush through the conversation without making an effort to understand their skills and experience. Recruiter rescheduled/cancelled meeting few times, and turned up 10 mins late on 3rd time when we connected. Rushed through conversation right from onset, and tried to get to know a salary number and wouldn’t move further in conversation, until I gave my current salary number. Tone changed, and recruiter immediately tells me that this position may not be a good fit for me and he may position me for some other opportunities. I try to convince him to go ahead and submit for the applied position as its a direct fit, but looks like he made up his mind. I feel like given I had a chance to speak to right recruiter who understood my skills and experience - they would’ve understood it’s a direct fit to role in question and seen my worth. I understand hiring on budget, but just ask your recruiters to dedicate some more time and schedule at least more than 10-15 mins per candidate. Good luck to Wayfair on finding and hiring right talent, if all their recruiters care about is going bargain hunting for talent.
