Waited for interviewer while we awkwardly looked through beauty products pretending to be interested. She came and walked us out to a large round table in the middle of the mall. There were about 7 of us, and I felt under dressed not wearing a full on black suit, visible cleavage and full blown makeup.
The interviewer had us go around in a circle and introduce ourselves and why we are interested in working there. She only asked us two other questions and if we had any questions for her. We were all so shocked how short it was, that it seemed we all just threw out questions to promote ourselves as much as possible.
I had NO idea how she could differentiate those who qualified and those who didn't! Sure there were two who didn't have retail experience, but the rest of us were pretty much equal on answering the questions. We each had great points we brought up. At that point I figured we all got the job except for those one or two girls. I was shocked when I didn't hear back, and know it's because of my plain appearance.
It's true: they already know who's hired and not even before you're seated.
