I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon in Feb 2010
Interview
Initially started as an intern, then after I received my diploma. I was able to apply for the retail leadership program. Did not do a phone intern because I guess I was already familiar with the employees and HR recruiter. Interviewed with 2 people (district manager and HR recruiter), asked behavioral based questions and questions about current and past jobs. My tip is just to be very prepared and SMILE!
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verizon in Sep 2009
Interview
I applied on-line and received a standard, "don't contact us, we'll contact you" e-mail. 7 days later I received a phone call and was asked about my resume and previous work experience. The interviewer on the phone seemed very unprofessional and was clearly heard eating food throughout the interview. I was called back 2 days later and asked to meet the store manager for a 1-on-1 interview in the next 3-4 days. I did that and the interview was professional and very standard (here's what we do and who we are..... tell us who you are and what you've done). I was called back 5 days later and offered the job contingent on me passing a background check and drug screen. The person offering me the job also seemed unprofessional and highly distracted during our conversation. In short, the people I met with in the store gave me reassurance that I was applying at a good company. The people I talked to on the phone (based out of Alpharetta, GA) seemed like they were working another job and trying to talk to me at the same time.

Interview
Filled out an online application and in less than one week a verizon rep called me back to schedule a telephone interveiw, for later in the day. The telephone interveiw was really relaxed and easy the rep was easy to speak with and very professional. She explained my duties, hours, training and benefits that would come with the job. I had to decline due to the hours however
