I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Milledgeville, GA) in Apr 2011
Interview
The interview process was very smooth. Before you are offered an interview with the store manager, you have to pass the phone interview with the recruiter. From there, you go through an extremely thorough background check, from past jobs to references. The process lasts for about two weeks, but it is well worth it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
You are asked questions regarding the most difficult thing you had to do on the job. You are asked if you would be able to work on commission plus a base salary.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Verizon (Wallingford, CT) in Jul 2012
Interview
I had an initial phone interview July 9, 2012. The woman called 5 minutes later than schedulded. She spoke English with a very heavy Indian accent. It took me a bit longer to answer questions I was prepared for, because I had to proccess exactly what she had asked me. I am not sure if it was really ridiculous of Verizon to have a recruiter who people can barely understand, or if it was a test to see how well I could converse with someone I could barely understand. Either way I guess I failed because I was sent an email a few days later saying I was not what they were looking for. I am not exactly dissapointed because their pay doesn't seem proportonate for the crazy schedule they demand of their employees.
