VMware Technical Support Engineer interview questions

I got a call from HR manager. He was very friendly. When he heard that I don't have a valid work permit he politely refused myself as a candidate, because there are a lot of native citizens applying for this position. Nevertheless, I was able to get a lot of useful information from this interview. I found the competition rate for this positions, it was about 5 person per one position. Than we talked about the whole process . He said he would ask me simple technical questions based on my experience. If I passed that I would go to technical assessment, where another engineer asking more difficult and deep questions. He said also that they would like to know people's troubleshooting skills and how they are thinking. It means never say "I don't know", always try to answer the question some how.

I received an email inquiring if I was still interested. I Replied yes. We set up a phone screen interview where I was asked some technical questions mostly about Linux internals. I'm not at all a Linux internals expert but I managed to pass and was invited to another phone interview with an expert and was literally grilled on Windows and Linux for about 50 minutes. Again it was painful but I passed this. Then I was invited to a video interview as I am in California and the job is in Colorado. This went fairly well but I bombed on some fairly basic questions about customer service. Mostly it was a technical interview. Go very well prepared study if you need to.
