Process took place at their campus in Bangalore, outsourced through careernet.
First day had two rounds.
First round, written (aptitude + technical) (15+25) questions 75 minutes worth, no negative marking.
Shortlisted candidates (40 from total 140) were asked to attend second round,
Second round was a programming one, consisting of four really ambiguous simple questions.
Questions
1- Remove duplicates in a large array.
2- Find a missing number in the array.
3- Reverse a LL.
4- String conversion "vmware is a friend" to "erawmv si a dneirf"
No shortlist happened in this round.
F2F interview was scheduled the next day morning.
I was almost last person to attend the first level of interview.
First Level -
He was a very friendly guy. He started with some hr questions and then asked to run through a sample testcase for two of the programs that I've done in the second round. Later he gave me a puzzle, one design question and asked about my projects. I really did impress him, with my answers. Later, I asked him about his position. That was it and i was very confident of getting through this round. The next round was scheduled after 5min.
Questions
1- Tell about yourself.
2- Run through you're program with sample test case.
3- Design a chicken.
4- Puzzle - Twins such that elder has born two days after younger. How come possible ?
5- Why not interested in earlier offer from another company ?
I did a handful number of java projects and so that attracted a java technician to conduct my next round.
Second Level -
Frankly speaking, I'm really not bad at java and timing was such that I've skipped brushing my basic java concepts during my earlier preparation.
Questions
1- Why do you prefer Java over C (as I've given Java as my most preferred language) ?
2- Tell about the automatic garbage collector in java and the intelligence it has got.
3- JDK over JRE
-quite messed up with my answer
4- About final year project.
5- JDBC over ODBC
6- Triggers, Procedures, VIews
7- Exceptions, Throw.
8- J2ME vs J2EE
9- Javas platform independency.
10- Java Hibernate.
Although all the questions were really easier ones, I would be really thankful to have been asked questions only in my expertise field. Interviewer required confident and right anwers from me and I was a bits and pieces of both. I came to know that I dint do well, only after I got my result.
