I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at VMware (Austin, TX) in Apr 2015
Interview
Lengthy process to get to the actual interviews. After interviewing they decided to lower the position level and move an internal employee. Interview scheduling was difficult due to availability of interview panel. Interview did not include face to face interview hiring manager. One of the interviewers spent more time talking about himself.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No really difficult questions were asked. Standard procurement related questions
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Broomfield, CO) in Aug 2011
Interview
Very technical interview. You need to know and understand detailed Windows processes. A Linux understanding will help as well. Be confident in your abilities and be willing to utilize your skills to analyze situations even when you know nothing about the specific "applications" you can identify details that are relevant to all issues. This interview was also very personality based being smart and aloof will kill your chances. They want people to be a part of the culture!
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (New York, NY) in Jan 2011
Interview
The hiring process was in-depth, had to do presentation, show knowledge of company as well as industry. Additionally, previous success and territory knowledge was evaluated. The process starts with a recruiter, then phone interview and after that one-on-one meeting. I was called back twice to meet with other managers and peers.
