Basic interview process with a number of the business and technical teams. The interview process at VMware can be very long, for me I interviewed in late Oct and didn't start until March, they were having one of their layoffs in between which they have about once per year and it is hard to get hired in the middle of one of those.

Interview process = Technical Round 1 to 3 --> Manager Round --> Communication -->Offer
Technical Panel is super technical, they have deep understanding of Storage, Networking, Hardware. For TSE role, it is must for a candidate to know the basics.

Networking - How ping works, How to analyze packet captures etc.
Storage - Basics of storage, Raid groups
OS - What is Deadlock, how to indentify performance issues, what is Ring0
Hardware - Boot process of a computer
+ What ever you mentioned in resume, these chaps are very smart and can easily identify if resume is fake.

Interview
From start to finish, the process took a little over 2 months. I spoke with 3 other TAMs, an SE, and the hiring manager. Each person that I spoke with was very friendly and made the interview process very comfortable (I've found this same friendly environment in my first few days with the company as well).
