I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware in Feb 2016
Interview
I had several phone and Skype interviews that were laid back but effective and to the point. I worked with an internal recruiter throughout the interview process, and also had several interactions with the interview team, who were members of the team for which I was applying. It was a very low-stress interview process.
After I received my offer, I also completed a background check that was handled by a 3rd party. I provided my information to the company online and received correspondence from them when they needed more information. If there was a weak point in this process, it was the background check. I received several notifications indicating that they either needed more information or couldn't access the information I provided, but when I called, they said they had what they needed.
