The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Nueva Delhi)
Interview
Total 5 rounds. The first round was coding challenge with basic java concepts. 2nd round was frame work development and 3rd round was again coding challenge. 4th round is again a coding challenge (the interviewers got confused and had no idea if it was 3rd round or 4th round). 5th round was a managerial round with a lot of generic questions and the interviewer seemed occupied and in a hurry. There was no patience for an open conversation and no need to know the candidate. Felt hostile and aggressive. Lot of confusion regarding the job description and technical expectations. Felt like these folks were actually pulled at last minute to conduct the interview and none of the interviewers had any idea what Job description they were interviewing for. HR managers just send the interview invites and then there is no responsibility to convey the feedback if the candidate actually made to the next round and should continue with meetings. No response to emails or calls either. A big waste of time and energy. Very bad experience and feels insulting for someone who is not jobless or in dire need of an opportunity.

Question 1
basic java programs and data structures algorithms
Straight forward process. Applied online, interviewer reached out to schedule a phone screening. Second interview was with a portfolio review with a designer, and third interview was another portfolio review with a manager.

Question 1
What was the rationale for that design decision in your case study?
Interviewed the hiring manager. Asked several general questions how i would troubleshoot a reported problem. Question was too broad. Since job description included linux administration I described the steps to troubleshoot a problem at the linux level. At the end of interview he explained that they do not get access to the linux machines, that they only manage the virtual machines. Why include linux administration as part of the job description then? By the end I realized that he probably meant from the network perspective. Why not ask that question directly ?
