I applied online. I interviewed at Unity in Aug 2017
Interview
It was a 3-part interview process. Very timely in their responses. Took about 3 weeks total for whole interview process. I thought that every interviewer knew what they wanted to ask you and were very knowledgeable about the company. Overall great interview experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
All of the questions were pretty standard; but they did ask if I could read code and essentially bug test assets for the asset store.
For the Asset Store it's so crucial that you "get" Unity! So glad you do and that you had a positive and timely interview experience. Welcome to the team and thanks for writing a review.

Interview
Met with team lead in the office for the first meeting, which was a little unusual. He was a no-nonsense guy who really cut to the heart of why I was applying with them and my background. After that, I was invited back to meet his team for a day. 4 1-hour interviews, half tech, half behavioral(ish). Then finally invited back a third time to meet the director and the lead engineer, in what was another difficult but interesting discussion of the unit I would be joining.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Least amount of coins of different denominations of coins to pay a bill. Find how many 0's are adjacent to each other in a 2-dimensional matrix.
Thanks so much for your review and glad that you had a challenging and positive interview experience. Exploring your intent and capabilities is such a key part of the process. Glad you were able to get a sense of what the full team experience was like and that you decided to join us here at Unity. Welcome!
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
Recruiter reached out within a day of applying and scheduled a 30 min phone screening. After the phone screening, a phone interview with their hiring manager was scheduled. Questions were fairly simple with most of it focused on background.
After the phone interview an onsite was scheduled. The onsite focused on topics relating to their tech stack and my background. Overall your typical DS/A questions with a few system design questions. There were questions also focused on the ins/outs of each language.
Ultimately, their questions were fair and gave good signal into their candidates for what they were looking for. Which is solid CS background and ability to build a system from the ground up.
Thank you so much for your review and for participating in our interview process! We appreciate that it was challenging and sorry that you weren't able to join Unity at this time. Please stay in contact with us for future opportunities as they arise.
