I applied online. I interviewed at Unity (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
Started with a phone interview with a recruiter to ask about background and to know more about you. Afterwards we scheduled 3 Zoom interviews, an hour each in succession, where I was asked technical and behavioral questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical:
- Implement a class to create and add to a linked list.
- Search for and replace characters and substrings in a target string.
Behavioral:
- Describe a time when you disagreed with a coworker and how did you resolve it?
- Describe a time when you overcame a challenge.
- What does it mean to work with empathy?
- What projects are you proud of?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2021
Interview
Had an initial at-home coding test, followed by a 15min phone screening with a recruiter, and finally three 1:1 interviews (2 with members of the team and 1 with the manager). Overall, the experience was very positive and the recruiter was very helpful and provided constant feedback and communication throughout the process. There were no trick questions and I had interesting discussions with all the interviewers. Most of the questions were about past experience and skills (Describe X past project, why did you choose to do it like that, etc.). One of the three interviews was a coding test.

Interview
There were 3 rounds. All of them were more like conversations rather than interviews. It took 3 weeks to complete the process. Interviewers took the time to get to know you better as a person rather than the test you on your technical knowledge.
