I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty
Interview
First interview was with the store manager. She was great and we seemed to hit it off. I loved business culture and business plans for growth. All the questions were typical for retail and I studied the company online. Second interview with District Manager was postponed first time then rescheduled. I met with her a week later. She asked typical retail questions and was a bit rushed for time. Overall it seemed the interview went well and was very excited. Before hearing back a new district manager was transferred into the district and was left hanging for weeks. I really wanted the job and passed on a job offer for a great company (with great hours and less pay). Big mistake. It seemed to me like it was a perfect fit for me and for the store due to my background in retail. I felt I had a lock on the position at first and just got more and more stressed out waiting and waiting. After 6 weeks got a email that the position was filled internally.

Question 1
If you know how to interview none of the questions were difficult.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Manchester, CT) in Aug 2012
Interview
This is a normal retail interview with some extra points for cosmetics knowledge. ULTA is not a commission based sales system so team selling and plus one selling are key topics to mention.
