The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Monroeville, PA)
Interview
I cut my friends hair for the Manager and Assistant Manager to watch. Then the manager took me to the back office and conducted to the interview. It was short; she looked at my portfolio, asked me some questions, and ended up offering me the job on the spot.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Lancaster, OH) in Nov 2015
Interview
I wasn't expected upon my arrival and was sent back to the salon manager and other employee who asked me about who I was. They briefly asked me why I wanted to work here then disappeared. Came back to tell me that I got the job and I would now be meeting the manager.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (New York, NY) in Sep 2016
Interview
I applied online and was contacted a few days later to come in for an interview. It was a group interview with three other girls and two interviewers. It was held in the back supply room so there were a lot of distractions and different conversations going on, which caused the two interviewers to not really pay attention to anything we were saying. The questions were fairly standard but they didn't allow everyone to answer. It seemed like they were in a rush so they kind of just flew through the process. It lasted about 30 minutes and they asked all four of us if we could stay and chat with the GM because they liked all of us. So we were left to roam the store. I thought things went well based on the fact that they literally said they liked all of us, so when they told me to come back to the supply room and I didn't meet with the GM like they said I would, I knew I wasn't going to get the job. Instead I was basically asked the exact same questions as before by the exact same interviewer and during that time we were interrupted twice, and the interviewer didn't even let me finish half of my answers. After that pointless 2 minute "second interview" he told me he would get in touch with me in two weeks and to NOT call for a follow up at all. Well, it's been three weeks and no contact from them. I knew I didn't get it the second I went back and didn't meet the GM, but seriously at least try to treat the people your interviewing with respect and actually listen to their answers instead of cutting them off and wasting their time. Even if by some miracle I get a job offer from them, I wouldn't even consider accepting because the entire process was very unprofessional and uninviting.
