I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Dayton, OH) in Jul 2018
Interview
Group meeting to encourage or discourage (weed out) new candidates. If you get an "interview" then you're in. Theres no actual "interview". It was a way to get several candidates to show up together and show ID, which staff made a copy of.

Interview
I applied online via the USPS careers page. Was emailed about taking an exam the next day. I signed up for the exam and took it 7 days later on the last day I was able to take it. I was emailed my results telling me I passed. Then next day I was emailed about an interview. The email had the date and time and location where the interview was, so I went. I was 1 of 5 other people who were interviewed and we were all in the same room as the interviewer was telling us about the job. Then she took us one by one and interviewed us.

Interview
After applying, you will need to take a test if you qualify. Depending on your score, you may or may not be considered for employment. It can be a very lengthy process if orientation class availability isn't great. After an initial interview with a postmaster, it may take up to a month before you can even begin working. There is always a day where you shadow someone so you can get a feel for the job. It is very high intensity so it may not be for everyone.
