I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Des Moines, IA) in Feb 2016
Interview
I applied online on 2/6. Was invited to take the postal exam 473 and I took it on 2/10. Received email on 2/18 for a motor vehicle record search, a background search and drug test was requested. Was invited for a face to face interview on 2/24. Received a contingent offer of employment on 2/29. I received the final job offer on 3/17 and asked to start on 3/21. Since I was told not to resign when I was given the contingent offer, I was not able to give a notice to my current employer.

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Crawfordville, FL) in May 2016
Interview
I want tell you all about my experience. Mind you I have been applying with USPS for a month. I did my personality test and then was invited to do Exam 473 on April 12th. I did that and passed with an 84.3. I did my drug and background check on 4/25. I was asked for an interview on 5/3 which was a group orientation and then they interviewed us one by one. They gave a huge spill about the job being tough and that's a scare tactic to make you not want to work. The interview was nothing but short and simple. I received a job offer at 11:00 pm on 5/9 which I did accept. So everyone it's not hard to get on with the post office remain determined cause it's quicker than you think.
