Question 1
For Video Assessment
Can you name any skills you would like to learn to be successful in the role, and explain why those skills will help you to become successful at the company.
What do you think are the benefits of working with others across the whole company rather than working only with your direct team
What do you know about the TfL and why did you apply for the TfL?
Why did you choose this graduate scheme and how do you contribute to the TfL?
What actions are you going to take to continue grow and develop in my role.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Transport for London (Londres, Inglaterra) in Nov 2023
Interview
1st round: A literal online test consisting of drag and drops and moving choices from least important to most important to you - key is to try and match it to their values
2nd round: Another online test of more or less the same thing, except this time there are video interview questions you need to answer - luckily they will give you unlimited time to prepare before you hit that record button, unlike some others.
Video interview:
-Why TfL? (Literally)
-Why this role?
-What do you think are the benefits of cross-working rather than only working with your close team?
-What skills would you like to learn to be successful?
-How are you going to continuously develop to succeed in this role?
If your lucky the final step is the assessment centre, only around 20 people out of 1000+ applicants make it to this stage.
The assessment centre... consists of a competency interview and a technical test.
Competencies tested for this role are:
-Results Focus
-Stakeholder management
-Building Capability
-Motivational Fit
They ask more of your opinio, knowledge and situational scenarios rather than 'Tell me about a time when....' so being knowledgable about stakeholder management is beneficial.
For example, 'Why do you think its beneficial to network with people in a business setting?' or 'How would you approach a (awkward) colleague thats different to you?'
NOW..
The technical test... is literally OOP concepts with for loops, inheritance, and abstraction (Interface classes) being assessed (whatever programming language you know does not matter). So make sure to get your OOP knowledge up to scratch or atleast know the foundations otherwise...you'll struggle.
Writing this (@Dec 2023) only 2 got accepted so you better pray you have some luck on your side cause for sure most of the people will do their best at the assessment centre will stand out (including you), you just pray that they pick you over the others, competition is FIERCE!!!
