I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at TransPerfect (Honolulu, HI) in Jan 2014
Interview
I applied to be a Project Coordinator through Monster.com in October 2013. Fast-forward to January 2014, I get an email from one of Transperfect's recruiters, telling me that they found my resume through Monster and would like to know if we could connect to talk about the opportunity. I emailed back, and we set up a time to have a phone interview. After a basic interview he seemed to decide that I could move on to the next step was to take a 2 hour "final eye" test to test my skills on format editing. After I got the okay from the recruiter, I set up a time to meet up with the supervisor from the Honolulu office.
Surprisingly, after seeing all the bad reviews about the NY headquarters, the atmosphere in the Honolulu office was quite "laid-back". I had dressed up business-casual for the in-person interview, but I was clearly overdressed for the office as my interviewer was in white denim and slippers. She gave me low down of what a typical work week was like, and what their branch does to assist the NY branch. It was a very informative interview and I would have definitely liked to have worked there. After my interview on a Monday, I emailed the recruiter on Wednesday to follow up on how the interview went and he confirmed on Friday that they would not be moving forward with my application and rather other applicants with backgrounds closely matched to the requirements of the job description.
The recruiter answered my question about what the salary requirements were ($38,000) and if I would get paid overtime if I worked more than 40 hours a week (yes). The next step after the in-person interview would have been to have a phone interview with one of the managers from the NY office.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TransPerfect in Jul 2013
Interview
Applied online and received an e-mail the next day for a phone interview with a recruiter. Then took a copy edit test and received feedback the next day. I was then asked to proceed to an in person interview and met with the recruiter, 2 hiring managers and 2 people from the team. I was not offered the position but was not notified even though I took the time to go through all this. But everyone seemed very nice though.
