I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Teach for America (Grinnell, IA) in Sep 2013
Interview
The Teach For America interview has three parts. I would say it is very time consuming and thorough. They look for very driven individuals with Type A personalities or are extremely passionate. You start with a phone interview that will ask about your greatest leadership responsibilities. If you move on you answer questions about yourself, and respond to video questions. You will need two outside references to complete part of this section. Finally, you do a mini-lesson and answer 1:1 questions. The lesson can be on anything just prepare for it and bring all your energy. You just need to show that you have high energy and that you are ready to try and learn.

Interview
first is the phone conversation which is usually conducted by a corps member and then if you are invited for an interview it starts as a group interview and you discuss a few situations and you definitely want to speak up and weight in. Then you move to presentations which are short. Make sure you involve everyone and stay relaxed.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Teach for America (Dayton, OH) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was a very long process. I skipped the phone interview and went directly to the final interview. I did my virtually with other 5 applicants. It was hard to do group activities virtually. Some people would talk at the same time as you and not know it or the video would freeze. It was a never ending struggle.
