I applied online. I interviewed at Teach for America (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2024
Interview
The Interview Process is very intensive and requires a lot of preparation. I didn't pass the Interview round and they don't tell you why you weren't chosen. You are required to present a sample lesson and then there is about 30-40 minute of questions. They have a training before that I would suggest.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you had to handle a difficult situation.
You have to be prepared for a 5 minute lesson that is appropriate for the grade you selected and hands-on with students. Then you discuss the case activity along with 1-3 accomplishments/ times you made a change, and a question about how you dealt with conflict at work. And last question about WHY you chose this path.

Question 1
Tell us about one of your greatest accomplishments
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Teach for America (Newark, NJ)
Interview
Teach For America's staffing for corps member interviews is hit or miss. I felt uncomfortable with the forced rainbow coalition interview set up. It seemed very performative especially when you realized that there were no regular Black people. Everyone graduated from Harvard or had an MBA from some other Ivy. It was weird.
