I applied through college or university. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Teach for America (Gainesville, FL) in Oct 2015
Interview
The interview process is lengthy, and can be very stressful since you will eventually have to prepare a 5 minute lesson plan as part of your final interview. My advice about the lesson plan is this: talk about something you are generally passionate about or interested in. A friend of my did pathos, logos, and ethos. I taught a lesson about Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: The Three R's of conservation. It was something I was passionate about, and it really showed during the lesson. Use a demonstrative piece if possible. Also, don't be deterred to conduct your group interview via online. I did mine online, and aside from some technical difficulties, everything went well.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Question: I thought this was a rather odd question, which is why I remember it, but the interviewer asked "As a college student, a volunteer, and an employee, you must be busy quite often. How do you make sure you complete deadlines in a timely manner?"
The interview was relaxed and they were certainly there to help. They made it clear they would help you through the whole process of becoming a teacher with your own mentor guiding you.
easy and fun, lots of help through the process. Very helpful and kind, lots of responsiveness. everyone has a clear vision of the mission, and wants to achieve it. Loved it.

Question 1
How would you take care of yourself in a high stress job?
It's a one-hour interview covering both technical and behavioral rounds, including a case study. So, prepare to discuss your skills, past experiences, and walk through your problem-solving approach for a real-world business scenario.
