I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Target
Interview
There were three interviews, all given in person. Most of the questions are given in situations because Target believes that past performance is indicative of future performance so a lot of questions will ask, "Tell me about a time when..." There are a few open-ended questions like "Why do you want to work for Target?", etc. but most will analyze behavior.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you failed at something
Why do you want to work for Target
What are your strengths and areas for improvement
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Apr 2014
Interview
You will conduct multiple interviews. I had two over the phone interviews and three in person interviews. All questions are situational based. Ex tell me about a time when... Throughout the interviews, you talk about interests, hobbies, and what you are passionate about. Before going into the interview think of a 30 second "commercial" explaining what makes you, you. Also, asking "seek to understand" questions to your interviewer will make you seem more personable.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Phoenix, AZ) in Sep 2015
Interview
Phone screening, phone interview, and back-to-back face-to-face interviews with a Store Manager and Division Manager. The entire process was very quick. The District Manager was a difficult read, and did not seem very engaged in the interview. He started off asking "Why Target?" and followed with a handful of behavioral questions which are very easy. The next day I received a form email informing me they were pursuing other candidates. My take: They had a candidate previously selected but went through the motions. Easy interview questions, over-qualified, and not meant to be.
