The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2011
Interview
I was put into contact with Target through one of my previous supervisors. He had recently been accepted for a job as a store manager with Target. After I made initial contact, I was put into contact with the College Recruiting Coordinator for the Southeast Region. We had a 45 minute phone interview in which she asked a number of general, "get to know you" questions followed by a set of five behavioural questions in which she wanted answers based on the STAR method of interviewing. Overall I though the interview went well. After about two weeks, I received an email from Target's HR department stating that they were going to be pursuing other candidates. It is unfortunate that Target's policy is to not provide feedback to "outside applicants," so I was not able to find out what exactly they didn't like about me. Oveall, I enjoyed the process and everyone that I spoke to was upbeat and very pleasant to talk to. My only complaint is that the news that I would not be proceeding any further in the interview process was given through a generic HR email. It would have been much more professional for Target to call me directly to give me that news.

Question 1
Describe a time when you had to make a difficult decision. What was the decision? How did you handle it?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Louisville, KY) in Jul 2011
Interview
The interview process at Target is a very long process, but it makes sense if you are trying to get the best possible employees. I began the process with a phone interview with a regional recruiter who received my resume/information from a current employee. This interview went very well and I received an email a couple days later asking me to take an IQ/Personality test online as soon as possible. I took the tests and about 3 or 4 weeks later I received a phone call asking me to come in to a store for an in-person interview. Though, they called me and asked me to come in the following day, I was still able to make the interview time and went in for the interview. Here, I was interviewed by the Store Team Leader and the Executive Team Leader of HR for the store. This interview lasted about 20 minutes and was followed up by a 30-45 minute tour of the store by another one of the Executive Team Leaders. Though I did not think I did well on my interview I received a call a couple days later asking me to visit the district office and interview with the district manager. This was a 1-on-1 interview and I felt was my best interview of the bunch. Unfortunately, they didn't agree. I received an email a couple days later telling me they were pursuing other candidates. What sucked about this process is that there was absolutely no feedback. In fact, the email said it was Target's policy not to give feedback to potential hires that were not current employees. Whatever.
It was an overall good experience as most of the employees seemed to really like working there and were nice and easy to deal with. All the questions were situational-based interview questions. So, give me an example of a time you....fill in the blank. You can Google that topic and find hundreds of example questions and answers if you need help. Each of the three interviews had different questions, so be prepared for all kinds of different types of questions.

Question 1
Tell me about a time that you acted as part of a team and told the team leader about a problem that was occurring within the team?
I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Portland, OR) in Apr 2011
Interview
Set up a phone interview at Target after talking to recruiters at a job fair. The interview lasted an hour. Started off with general questions about my education and work experience. Then was asked "why do you want to work at Target?" and "where do you see yourself in 3-5 years?" The rest of the interview was completely behavioral question based (5 of them), all of which were difficult to answer. Interview ended and I got an e-mail in the coming week to inform me that they were considering other candidates.
