The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target in Sep 2010
Interview
Interviewed with Target when they recruited at my campus. 5 question situational interview. "Name a time..." I interviewed late in the day after the recruiter had spent all day interviewing, and she didn't seem too interested in what I had to say.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Houston, TX) in Aug 2011
Interview
I got a call from the local HR representative and ask me basic questions about the company. What the program is about and the pay scale which is 45K. Told me the whole interview is behavior based questions and to practice them before you get to the interview. I would recommend practice practice practice!!... That's the only way you get good at them. "Tell me about a time you helped a leader become more efficient" and "Tell me about a time you made a difficult decision and what did you learn from it". Pretty much all the question are going to be all about working with a team and making mistakes within a team. So make sure you have good answers that focus on working with teams and how you corrected those mistakes. It seems like Target is looking for young professionals out of college because the same day I interviewed I saw the class that was hired the month before and there was about 30 of them who were all my age younger than 25.
I would definitely recommend anyone to interview with Target and to make sure you ask for the job at the end of the each group interviews. They want people with passion and enthusiasm to lead teams and a large store. Although I've been in the job hunt for while I really thought that this interview has prepared me allot better than any other jobs I've gone to. I hope this helps and remember PRACTICE!
