I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2011
Interview
Had Phone interviews with 2 different recruiters. Than will lead to a minimium of 4 interviews, if you do well enough to make it to next round. Questions are all STAR type. There are salary ranges depending on experience. There will be a series of panel interviews. The test is it...if you test well you can make it to next round, but if not the buck stops there.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Feb 2011
Interview
The overall process was pretty easy. Talked with a campus recruiter. Conducted a brief interview then a week later was contacted by email to set up an account on the website and apply. Then conducted a brief 15 min interview with mostly behavioral questions.

Interview
Pretty straight forward. As many have mentioned, you start with a phone interview and then you progress to one-on-one interviews with the District Team Leader and Store Team Leader. I will say that getting this particular position has less to do with your qualifications and more to do with how the person was feeling on that particular day. I had 1 semester left to get an MBA and interviewed well but the District Team Leader did not seem to be "in the mood" to be interviewing that day and asked few questions and didn't say much. I had a very nice conversation with the Store Team Leader and he asked lots of questions. A friend of mine interviewed at the same place and said that same exact thing. A month later another one of our friends interviewed at that store with a different District Team Leader and got the job. Her qualifications included only a bachelors degree and no retail experience while both of us had a decent amount of customer service and retail experience as well as higher education.
