I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target in May 2012
Interview
I had a phone interview with a recruiter (very basic questions about why you want to work at Target, and one or two STAR type questions). Then I was given info on completing a IQ type test with logic, math, situational questions. I was scheduled for an interview with a store manager, and was asked more STAR questions. I heard back from another recruiter that I wasn't chosen to move on. Difficult process, time-consuming and you have to be patient. It takes a while for things to happen. Prepare for interviews by reading questions on this site, and really speak to your "Leadership" skills. Be very specific in your answers and try to follow the format they want (Situation/Task, Action, Result).

Question 1
Tell me about a time you challenged a supervisor or colleague's views.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Sacramento, CA) in Jan 2010
Interview
The interview consisted solely of behavioral based questions. Target's career program is geared more towards leadership and managerial development, which is why the interview questions are all designed to elicit specific instances of the interviewee's past leadership roles. The more specific the answer, the better; I ended up getting the job offer and accepted it. It's a great place to start your career, but I'm not sure how great a place it is to stay for long (5+ years). Usually if you aren't slated to get promoted within your first few years of working there, you'll be stuck in the same position with a salary cap for the rest of your years.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to teach or correct your supervisor. What did you do and say specifically?
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Fontana, CA) in Oct 2011
Interview
I had total of three interviews. The first, was with two interviewers and went really well. They were easy going and very fun to talk to. The second interview was a bit more dry, with only one interviewer, I felt she concentrated more on writing down what I had to say than actually interviewing me. The last interview was just like the second, but the questions made me stumble a bit. With target, you will always get questions that are relatively the same. Make sure to give the same answers every time. Yes, every time, they want consistency which is something I failed to to in my last interview, I brought up completely different stories. Definitely a big no, no! Smile, give genuine answers, and be consistent!
