I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Jun 2012
Interview
I met someone high up at Target at a conference and I told them I was interested in being an Executive Team Leader. She referred me to the recruiter. I had to take a personality assessment. Then, I had a phone interview with a Business Partner. Next, I had a mini-interview with the recruiter. Then, I had a video conference with a District Team Leader and HR Business Partner. Then, there was a brief final phone interview with the Group Leader. Then, I was called by a recruiter with an offer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2011
Interview
Interview process is very intense. Mostly situational questions so have several situations in mind that you can use to answer a variety of questions. Target is huge on feedback so be prepared to get feedback, even in the interview process, and be sure to make notes so that you can use that feedback for your next interview. Even if you get the feedback that some of your answers were not great if they have a good feeling about you and you have demonstrated the qualities that they want you may still get through to the next interview so do not be too discouraged. I had 4 interviews before the job offer. The culture places a high value on team, feedback, and development. In your answers they will be looking for you to display leadership qualities(courage, accountability, managing talent, innovates, problem solves...). Very upbeat, fast paced, friendly culture.
