I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target
Interview
I first attended an information session at my university. At that time I submitted my résumé. They emailed me about a week later and they asked me to come in for the interview.
The interview was very structured. There were two interviewers with one person asking the questions and another writing down my answers and taking notes.
Questions I remember from the interview:
Name a time you were given consequences for a mistake you made and tell what YOU did to fix it/ how you handled the situation
Tell me about a time you had to confront a peer/supervisor
Tell me about a time you had to change your leadership style and what the outcome was?
If you do well in the interview, you will be chosen for a second interview on the spot. I was fortunate enough to be chosen for a second interview. Same type of questions were asked. I did really well on the first interviewer but I was extremely nervous for the 2nd interview. I felt a bit intimidated as you could tell that the 2nd group of interviewers were more tenured than the first group of interviewers.
What they are looking for is CLOSURE in your answers. (This came directly from the first interviewer that recommended me for a 2nd interview that day). When asked a question, answer it in a form of a story (short of course) and provide an end. Give what you learned from that specific experience or event.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Folsom, CA) in Sep 2012
Interview
-ATTENTION- If you want a job where you are hired right away.. seek elsewhere! Very long, in depth process but WORTH the wait (for me). Applied online, got contacted by a recruiter, did an online assessment. Had a total of 4 interviews over the span of 2 months. Before each interview I came to this SITE and studied my answers for questions that were on here, INCREDIBLY helpful.. Not sure I would have landed the job if it were not for this site... very thankful... Went in each time with a SMILE and CONFIDENCE (you will need these) show enthusiasm, be energetic you should be good to go. One of the best experiences, taught me a lot about myself ! Got offered the job literally via my voice mail as I was exiting my final interview, INSANE !! BG check/drug test done immediately, good luck !
