I went to the store and filled out an application, I filled it out and turned it in the same day. I heard from a manager by the end of the day and she said to come in for an interview the next day. I was 15 minutes early and the interview was VERY laid back, we actually sat on the floor in the kiosk and it felt more like a conversation. the questions were super easy and she took notes on what I was saying so she could remember. she said she wanted me to come back the next day for a second interview with the district manager, this is something all new hires have to do. so I came in the next day and did an interview with her as well as the district manager. this is where things got strange. he was very distant and didn't really take one glance at me until we sat down in the food court and then he bombarded me with questions and didn't really let me get more than two words in. he critiqued everything I said and kept leaving the table to take phone calls, but somehow through all that he offered me the position. actually it was more of "welcome to sunglass hut" not an offer. then, a second person came for their interview and I was supposed to leave and fill out new hire paperwork, well he thought it'd be a great idea to have me sit in on her interview as well. keep in mind I had been there about an hour already with his unpreparedness and constant stopping to take phone calls, I was ready to go and mentioned I needed to be out of there pretty soon in order to pick up my girlfriend from work. still, he had me sit in on her interview which took about 45 minutes. then he decided to keep asking me questions even though I was already hired, he had me role play and everything. he offered her the job and then a THIRD guy came for an interview. so of course, I and the other interviewee sat in on his as well except THIS TIME WE HAD TO DO THE INTERVIEWING!! it was so unheard of. we weren't supposed to tell this poor guy that we were in the same position as him, he thought we were all managers! how intimidating!! not only for him, but for US as well, we had to come up with interview questions and decide whether or not sunglass hut should employ him. I would've been halfway okay with this if the district manager STAYED TO LISTEN! he wasn't even there for the majority of it! he was talking to his daughters soccer coach 15 feet away! I was so disturbed and it was so awkward. I was tempted to just get up and walk out. but the district manager is rarely ever there and I absolutely LOVED my manager so I decided to stay. plus I didn't want to undergo all of that for nothing. don't let this scare you, I'm sure no one else has had this weird of an experience.
