I applied online. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Applied via e-mail to the manager. Received a phone call where the manager held a impromptu phone interview between me and her. I was then asked to go to an in-person interview where she asked me a few questions and had me do an "audition" where I was to sell her a pair of sunglasses using the store's standard script. Got asked to do a second interview next week.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when your integrity was questioned and how you handled it
Sunglass Hut does not promote hiring "walk-ins", so it's best to know someone who works there. If you don't, encourage the store manager to come and observe you in your current work environment. Many stores have adopted a group interviewing process leading up to peak seasons, so be prepared in advance with knowledge of the company, brands that are carried and even competitor information.

Question 1
Tell me about a time someone asked you to do something you believed to be unethical or dishonest and how you reacted to the situation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut (Metairie, LA) in Mar 2013
Interview
I put my resume on craigslist on a whim and a manager from a local Sunglass Hut emailed me to call her. I did so and she set me up with an interview to happen a couple days later. The first interview was one on one with the store manager. When I arrived she had me fill out a paper application as required. Then she proceeded with the interview. Fairly standard, some tricky questions stemming from situations in previous work environments. She then gave me a link for a background check and told me after I passed there would be a second interview. The background check was thru LexusNexus and online at home. It was completed and returned to me with a pass about a week later. Despite this, it took sunglass hut THREE WEEKS to set up the second interview, which was a group interview. I arrived and there were 3 other people there. The group interview was with the same store manager as before but this time accompanied by the assistant manager. We played an ice breaker and then they basically asked the same questions as the first interview but this time to the group and whoever jumped in first could answer. They then dismissed us and said if we were cleared thru that round there would be a third (yes, third) interview with the regional manager. Seemed like a bit too much of a process for an hourly retail position. I called three times after that but the manager wasn't available and never called me back.
