I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stanford University (Stanford, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Had a phone interview, where they described the job to be pretty different when compared to the generic job listing. I still expressed interest and was invited for an in-person interview a week later. Communication and the phone interview was a pleasant experience.
The in-person interview involved answering basic behavioral questions, goals, and your past lab experience. They said the offer is there if I wanted it and to let them know within the next few business days. Two days later, I send them an email to accept the position and received no reply. Two weeks later, I contacted them and they tell me that they decided to hire someone else.
Always ask about the job duties and what you'll be doing, almost all lab listings are generic. I saw this same position relisted but the errors and incorrect statements regarding the position were still there.

Interview
There was a 30 minutes phone screen and a week later there was an onsite group interview which also took about 30 mins. The interview process went smoothly, the recruiters were very polite and behaved in a professional manner, the atmosphere was very welcoming. I sent a thank you e-mail after the interview and a week after sent a follow up message. They thanked me for my patience and communicated that they decided to move forward in continuing their search.
